Il programma verterà sullo studio del rapporto fra ‘Effimero’ e ‘Permanente’ nell’arte del Novecento e dell’età contemporanea per cogliere, in un’analisi di carattere storico, problemi e strategie relative alla produzione artistica con uno sguardo alla conservazione, alla gestione e a problemi di manutenzione e restauro del patrimonio artistico contemporaneo fra musei e spazio pubblico.
Partendo dal problema della ‘temporalità’ nell’arte contemporanea, in rapporto alla sua definizione e/o interpretazione, oggetto di analisi saranno i linguaggi, le materie e le tecniche dell’arte del XX e XXI secolo anche in rapporto alle modalità delle loro esposizioni (fra mostre e musei).

Il corso permetterà di sviluppare conoscenza e capacità di comprensione della storia artistica del XX secolo e dell’arte più strettamente contemporanea stimolando una capacità di comprensione, in particolare dei materiali e delle tecniche, del patrimonio artistico presente sul territorio. Autonomia di giudizio e abilità comunicative permetteranno di apprendere anche attraverso la simulazione di presentazioni della materia rivolte potenzialmente ai diversi pubblici dell’arte contemporanea.

Conoscenza dei lineamenti di base dell’arte del Novecento in Italia e in ambito internazionale.

Lezioni frontali, esercitazioni/seminari, sopralluoghi, partecipazione a convegni e conferenze.

Le lezioni si avvicenderanno fra didattica frontale in aula e lezioni nei musei in presenza delle opere. In particolare l’attività laboratoriale verterà sulle tecniche e i materiali delle opere della collezione VARCO presso il Dilbec.

Prova orale e prova intercorso sui risultati dell’attività laboratoriale.

Fatta salva una conoscenza di base relativa all’arte del Novecento, si accederà alla conoscenza degli artisti e delle opere, in particolare sotto il profilo dell’analisi delle tecniche e dei materiali di cui sono costituite facendo riferimento ai cataloghi e siti web dei musei. Si privilegerà come oggetto d’osservazione il patrimonio presente nelle collezioni museali campane e specificamente la collezione VARCO del Dilbec facendo tesoro dell’esperienza diretta con gli artisti.

The program will focus on the study of the relationship between ‘Ephimeral’ and ‘Permanent’ in twentieth century art and of the contemporary age, in order to grasp, in a historical analysis, problems and strategies related to artistic production with an eye to conservation, management and problems of maintenance and restoration of the contemporary artistic heritage in museums and public space.
Starting from the problem of ‘temporality’ in contemporary art, in relation to its definition and / or interpretation, the analysis will aim at the languages, subjects and techniques of 20th and 21st century-art in relation to the modalities of their expositions (exhibitions and museums).

The course aims to provide knowledge of the history of 20th-century art and of contemporary tendences, in particular of the materials and techniques used, paying attention to the patrimony present in the surroundings.
Autonomy of judgment and communication skills will enable the student to learn through presentations addressed to different audiences of contemporary art.

Didactics will be articulated in classroom lectures and lectures in museums, taking into account the works of art. In particular, the workshop will focus on the techniques and materials of the works of the VARCO collection at the Dilbec.

With a basic knowledge related to twentieth-century art, the student will gain knowledge of artists and works, in particular related to the analysis of the techniques and materials of which they are made, referring to the catalogs and websites of museums. Particular attention will be paid to the patrimony present in the Campanian museum collections and more specifically the VARCO collection of Dilbec, benefitting from the direct experience with the artists.
