Evaluation methods | Oral discussion between the examiners and the students on rheumatological diseases and allergology and clinical immunology (see Proff. De Palma and Romano syllabus), as indicated in the lesson schedule. According to the learning objectives, the student should demonstrate a deep knowledge of the most common rheumatic diseases, that are frequently met in general practice, i.e. osteoporosis, osteoarthritis, septic and reactive arthrtitis, crystal-induced arthropathies; the student should also show a good knowledge of the whole spectrum of chronic arthritis of autoimmune origin and their possible complications; lastly, the student should show a good knowledge of the most common signs and symptoms and/or laboratory and/or instrumental investigations that suggest a suspicion of a systemic autoimmune disease and require further specialistic investigations. To this purpose, the student will be asked to give a case definition of the disease of interest, to describe the clinical and epidemilogical aspects of the disease and the cues that allow a differential diagnosis with similar conditions. Pathophysiological aspects of rheumatic diseases are usually discussed to gain a better understanding of the background that triggers the disease and of its clinical aspects. Specialistic therapies are not discussed in the final exam. The final grade is expressed in 30/30 were 18 represents the minimum and 30 the maximum. |
